New Fire Danger sign installed in Capon Bridge, WV

A new Smokey Bear fire danger sign has been installed near the Capon Bridge Volunteer Fire Company in Capon Bridge, WV. This town is located on US Route 50, just west of the WV/VA line. The sign was provided by the WV Division of Forestry, and installed by the fire department members. It looks great!

The WVDOF recently donated a Smokey Fire Danger Sign to the Grafton Fire Department, with the intent that it be installed in a prominent high-traffic area to inform residents of the current fire danger. Through the generosity of Walgreens Drugstore and the Grafton FD, the sign has been installed at a prominent location in Taylor County.

Fire Forester Jason Jones was instrumental in coordinating this effort, and was successful in getting word to the local newspaper, the Mountain Statesman that covers Taylor County.

Wildland Warehouse Mobile Showroom Coming to Morgantown!

To all interested wildland firefighters - the Wildland Warehouse (www.wildlandwarehouse.com) Mobile Showroom will be in Morgantown, WV during the week of June 7th, 2010. It will be in town for the 2010 Mid-Atlantic Wildfire Training Academy. The showroom will be in display definitely on Tuesday, June 8th, at Krepps Park, during the Academy BBQ. There may be other times where the showroom will be open for business.

2010 Mid-Atlantic Wildfire Training Academy

Registrations are now being taken for the 2010 Mid Atlantic Wildfire Training Academy, to be held in Morgantown, WV on the campus of West Virginia University.
